Johnny Depp fans blast actor’s teeth in at Cannes Film Festival

Johnny Depp was one of the many Hollywood stars to attend the prestigious 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

Alongside the likes of Brie Larson, Uma Thurman and Elle Fanning, Depp made his big return to cinema to showcase his new Louis XV period drama, Jeanne du Barry.

The classic tale of real-life redemption marks his Hollywood comeback after his highly publicised defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.

His attendance sparked major controversy as he received a seven-minute standing ovation during the premiere.

Despite this, Depp appeared to be all smiles as he walked the red carpet and posed for cameras at the 76th Film Festival.

Although many were glad to see his monumental comeback, some fans were left distracted by the actor’s teeth.

Unlike other Hollywood stars with veneers and million-dollar smiles, Depp’s grin was compared to his Pirates of the Caribbean character “Jack Sparrow”.

Taking to Twitter, @cocainecross remarked: “Johnny Depp’s teeth are literally ROTTING.”

While @joeyduzzit_ claimed: “He has too much money to have teeth like that. Maybe he’s shooting another pirate movie lol.”

Blasting the actor @empressatlantis added: “This should be considered bacterial biological warfare.”

As @KayleighPereira wrote: “Very very very inspired to brush my teeth, floss and use a tongue scraper every time I see a pic of Johnny Depp at Cannes.”

@Cult_Of_Brian stated: “Johnny Depp appears to have forgotten to brush his teeth this morning.”

A sixth fan @LakeshowBambino joked: “He turning into Captain Jack Sparrow for real.” (sic)

Among the complaints about his teeth, another fan @sagesurge unearthed a 1995 interview Depp gave to Premiere Magazine where he addressed his oral issues.

He told the publication: “I’ve got loads of cavities. I had a root canal done eight years ago that’s unfinished. It’s like a rotten little stub.

“But I like it. It’s like when the Indians would make something beaded, they would always put imperfections on it. I’m proud of these.

“When I see people with perfect teeth, it drives me up the wall. I’d rather swallow a tick than have that!”
