Jodie Kidd’s naked pub sign portrait with her ‘a**e hanging out’ gets banned

Jodie Kidd posed for a painting showing off her behind that was put up in front of the pub, replacing the old traditional image of a face in a crescent moon.

The 44-year-old landlady’s makeover at the West Sussex pub was in aid of raising money for charity however locals were unable to see the funny side.

The former model explained that after locals complained the council told her to take the pub sign down.

Jodie, who has co-owned the pub for seven years, told The Sun: “We had to take it down because we received too many complaints.

“It was really sad. Villagers thought it wasn’t fitting for a 16th-century pub to have an a**e hanging out. They complained and the council told us to take it down.”

The Half Moon was one of a dozen traditional pubs to have their signs reimagined with a raunchy makeover by the Stella Artois: The Pub Renaissance campaign.

The original artwork featuring Jodie’s own “half moon” was auctioned off alongside several copies in aid of Hospitality Action, which supports anyone in the industry.

Jodie explained the campaign was to support those struggling to pay their rising energy bills.

She said: “If they didn’t understand it was for charity and helping the hospitality industry, then I’m sure they were thinking ‘why is our landlady getting her butt cheeks out?’.

“They must have thought ‘she’s gone completely mad.”

In March, Jodie gave her punters quite a shock when she unveiled a new sign featuring a nude portrait of herself.

In 2017, the model purchased her local village pub, The Half Moon, in Kirdford, West Sussex and has become friendly with the regulars.

The racy sign was to hang outside as part of a campaign to raise money for pubs struggling with energy bills.

The nude pub signs and replica posters are available for online auction at www.stellapubsigns.com with profits donated to Hospitality Action to assist pubs with rising energy bills. Stella Artois will match funds raised up to £50,000.
