Joan Collins says she’s working at 90 as star admits ‘I have to make a living’
Dame Joan Collins plans to continue working as the legendary star revealed she wants to continue living a luxury lifestyle.
Speaking about her longstanding career in a new interview, the TV star who turned 90 in May, cheekily quipped about her wealth, despite loving the work she continues to do.
“I work,” she told The Times, “because I have to make a living. This is what astounds me. What kind of money do you think I have?”
The on-screen star also opened up about her previous romantic partners – and their tendency to be much younger than she is.
Joan is married to theatre producer Percy Gibson, who is 32 years Collins’ junior at 58, and she admitted that “it takes a lot to charm me”.
The couple first met in 2000 while she was working on the play Love Letters, which he produced.
Percy is her fifth husband and the pair have been married for over two decades.
The Golden Globe winning actress also recalled her four previous marriages and quipped there was no money left after getting divorced three times.
“They all got money out of me, actually,” she told the same publication of her former husbands — except her third husband, businessman Ron Kass, because by the time they divorced “there was no money left”.
Joan spoke of her happiness since meeting husband number five, Percy.
“He’s been a company manager since he was 19,” she said of Gibson. “So he’s used to dealing with actors and producers and directors and divas.”
The couple marked their milestone anniversary back in 2022 sharing a gorgeous snap of the newlyweds cutting the cake after saying “I Do”.
She wrote on Instagram at the time: “20 years ago today #ahubby and I tied the knot and have been happily married ever since.”
