Jinni has departed from K-pop rookie girl group NMIXX and music label JYP Entertainment, 10 months after her official debut.

JYP Entertainment announced Jinni’s departure from the group due to “personal circumstances” in an official statement translated via Soompi on Friday, Dec. 9.

“Jinni, who has been with NMIXX, will leave her team due to her personal circumstances and terminate her exclusive contract,” the label’s statement read.

Meanwhile, JYP confirmed that NMIXX, which debuted as a septet, will continue with six members. The label also requested fans to “give lots of encouragement to Jinni who will be walking a new path” and support the girl group.

Born as Choi Yun-jin, Jinni made her debut as the rapper, dancer and vocalist of NMIXX. The girl group released their latest single, “Funky Glitter Christmas,” this month.

NMIXX debuted in February 2022 via the single album “AD MARE” with the title track “O.O.” The group currently consists of Haewon, Lily, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo and Kyujin.  /ra
