Jimmy and Holly head off on their honeymoon
Bachelor stars Jimmy Nicholson and Holly Kingston have not only moved in together after finding love on the reality TV show, they’re also celebrating another milestone: their honeymoon.
While The Bachelor franchise may have struggled in the ratings department this year, the romance between Jimmy Nicholson and Holly Kingston has been nothing but a roaring success.
The loved-up couple have wasted no time moving in together in the wake of the reality show, and things must be working out, because as the pair exclusively reveal to Stellar On Friday, their trip to Mudgee for Nicholson’s birthday last weekend also doubled as a honeymoon.
“Surprise! It’s a birthday- slash-honeymoon,” Kingston shares, before adding: “Except, we’re not married…” “Yet…” Nicholson clarifies. So, what exactly were the couple up to in the wine region?
“We’re filming a new series called 100 Honeymoons,” Nicholson explains. “The premise is that the two of us try out different kinds of honeymoon destinations all over Australia and the world. Next up is a trip to Fiji.”
Kingston, whose background is in lifestyle journalism and marketing, and Nicholson, who is a pilot for Jetstar, combined their professional experience and love of travel to come up with the concept.
And the couple’s manager, Benji Hart, says the idea has been well received. “We’ve had a lot of interest. The first six episodes will be available online,” Hart reveals. “But then watch this space…”
While the couple haven’t walked down the aisle yet, they say their relationship is headed in that direction, and when they do tie the knot, they’ve already picked their real honeymoon destination. “Italy,” they say in unison.
Nicholson adds: “It was actually talking about our dream honeymoon destination that led us to the idea for the show.”
Ahead of their Mudgee weekend, the former Bachelor took Kingston to his family’s Palm Beach home on the Northern Beaches for birthday celebrations with his parents, Noel and Susan – who were a hit with audiences when they appeared on the dating show – as well as members of his extended family.
“I met his mum and dad on national television, so that’s not natural,” she recalls. “And the night I met Jimmy’s sister [Tahnee] and cousin Melissa definitely didn’t go well. But it’s great now – they’ve really welcomed me into the family.”
And while Nicholson’s dad originally picked runner-up Brooke Cleal as his top choice when they met in Alice Springs, that’s all water under the bridge.
In fact, Noel tells Stellar On Friday that the newest addition to his family reached out via text ahead of the weekend and called him her “second father”.
He adds: “Holly is such a lovely girl and she fits right in with our family.” Aside from honeymoon- style holidays, the couple have also been hitting the Sydney social scene, making red-carpet appearances at movie premieres and events.
When asked how they’re adapting to fame, the pair laugh, before Kingston says: “We were definitely the least famous people at the James Bond premiere.” Nicholson agrees.
“We’re always surprised if anyone comes up to us,” he explains.
“We were out at the pub a few nights ago and a young bloke came up and said he wanted a picture with us. I thought he was joking! But people have been genuinely nice.”
