Jhunjhunwalas re-enter Indiabulls Realty, add more of Federal Bank in Q2

NEW DELHI: Seasoned investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s name resurfaced among shareholders of Indiabulls Real Estate while his wife Rekha was seen entering Federal Bank in September quarter, latest shareholding data suggests.

Jhunjhunwala owned 50,00,000 shares or 1.1 per cent stake in Indiabulls Real Estate as of September 30. He held a similar percentage in the real estate firm as of December 30. But his name was missing among the company shareholders owning more than 1 per cent stake in the realty firm since then.

It is difficult to ascertain whether the Big Bull was holding on to the stock during the intervening two quarters as companies are required to report names of shareholders with over 1 per cent stake.

Meanwhile, while Rakesh Jhunjhunwala kept his stake in Federal Bank constant at 5,47,21,060 shares in September quarter. The Jhunjhunwala duo — under the name of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala Rekha Jhunjhunwala –bought additional 2,10,00,000 shares or 1.01 per cent stake in the private lender.

Rekha also marginally increased her stake in Tata Communications to 1.08 per cent from 1.04 per cent sequentially.

Jhunjhunwala, along with wife Rekha, held 4.87 per cent stake in Titan Company as of September 30, compared with 4.81 per cent stake as of June 30. Rakesh who entered SAIL in June quarter further raised his stake in the state-run steel company to 1.76 per cent from 1.39 per cent sequentially.

Jhunjhunwalas kept their stakes constant in companies such as Escorts, Nazara Technologies, Autoline Industries, Man Infraconstruction, TV18 Broadcast, NCC, Orient Cement, Prakash Industries, Bilcare, DB Realty and Jubilant Pharmova, among others.

During the June quarter, Jhunjhunwala exited MCX and Lupin while he pared stakes in a handful of other portfolio holdings in September quarter, fresh shareholding data suggested.
