Jet2 orders 35 Airbus planes for £3.4bn to meet travel demand

Jet2 has ordered 35 new A320 neo aircraft from Airbus for $3.9bn (£3.4bn) to meet future travel demand.

Jet2 has ordered 35 new A320 neo aircraft from Airbus for a total value of $3.9bn (£3.4bn) to meet future travel demand. 

The low-cost carrier announced today that, under the agreement, it could extend the order up to 71 planes, for a total value of $8bn. 

“The order reflects our confidence that we have a much-loved product built on sector leading customer service which we can continue to grow and these aircraft will ensure our customers have a wonderfully comfortable and enjoyable experience as they travel with us for their well-deserved Real Package Holidays from Jet2holidays or scheduled holiday flights with Jet2.com,” commented Jet2’s executive chairman Philip Meeson. 

The deliveries will stretch over a period of three years, from 2028 to 2031.
