Jeremy G spoke about his new single “BINI,” which is about a guy’s heart-fluttering confession to a girl, admitting he had a certain someone in mind while writing the song.

The singer-songwriter revealed this but opted not to name anyone in particular, during a media conference on Thursday, March 23.

Aaminin ko naman (I’ll admit that) there’s inspiration for this song. There’s a person naman na (whom) I wrote this to but for me, if that person would want to know if the song is about her, I would gladly tell her but I would just like to keep it between me and her.”

“Hindi lang ngayon but pati sa ibang songs ko (Not just on this song but also on my other songs)—if there’s an open ended type of kwento (story) or something that people feel like should be talked about, I personally would just like to talk about it with me and that other person,” he added.

“The Voice Teens” alum then said that he just expressed his emotions in the song, and that he would not feel bad whether his feelings will be reciprocated or not.

“That’s how life is. Life does not always go as you expected and that’s OK,” he stated. “As an artist, I’m always going to draw inspiration from either specific points or general things in my life. This happened to be something that I drew inspiration from and if it doesn’t work out, it doesn’t work out. It’s OK.”

Jeremy also talked about how fans seemed to have been guessing between Vivoree Esclito and BINI’s Sheena as the mystery girl behind the song. Although the singer maintained that he wants to keep her identity secret, he said he is delighted that fans are expressing support for him and his song.

“BINI,” which was co-written by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo and Star Pop label head Rox Santos, was released in several music platforms on Friday, March 24.  /ra
