Jeremy Clarkson speaks out as police report man ‘behaving strangely’ at his shop

Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat farm shop has seemingly been targeted in a bizarre turn of events.

The Grand Tour star has now explained what happened at his property this week, after “hurriedly” checking CCTV following news from the police.

Speaking in his latest column for The Sun, the 63-year-old recalled the male’s unusual request after failing to get into the small store.

The presenter started: “An all-points bulletin was issued by crack police commanders in Chipping Norton after a man was seen behaving strangely at our Diddly Squat farm shop.”

After reading this, Jeremy looked over the footage, with the man caught on film at 6.36am.

Discussing seeing them pulling up in their car, he recalled: “It stopped. And then it lurched forwards. And then it stopped again.

“And then the passenger door was flung open, and a dog jumped out… Eventually, a man emerged from behind the wheel, carrying a bottle of prosecco.”

Jeremy claims they tried to open the doors of his shop, before spraying the alcoholic drink over their vehicle.

The star continued: “He then climbed on to its roof and did a dance, causing considerable damage, before realising he’d run out of booze.”

He is then said to have tried to get into the room where Jeremy’s brand of lager is kept.

The broadcaster added: “When he was found by a member of staff, he asked for a hug. Yup. This is crime in the Cotswolds.

“A man sprays prosecco all over the place, does a dance… and then asks for a hug.”

Jeremy didn’t go into further details as to what happened with the person in question.

The Top Gear favourite runs a 1,000-acre farm in the Cotswolds that he brought in 2008.

His highs and lows have all been captured on film for Amazon Prime’s Clarkson’s Farm.

Season two of the programme aired earlier this year, and saw him open a restaurant on-site following the success of his shop.

The third and likely final series of the show is expected to be released in early 2024.
