Jennifer Aniston won’t cut hair for role after ‘ugliest’ Friends look

Jennifer Aniston, 54, has been left determined to never change her hairstyle for a role again, after admitting her famous ‘The Rachel’ cut was not her “best look”.

The comments came as the Hollywood actress appeared on Drew Barrymore’s talk show this week alongside her Murder Mystery co-star Adam Sandler, 56.

In conversation, she was asked whether she would cut her hair for a role, with Jennifer shutting down the idea as well as sharing her thoughts on her famous short ’90s hairdo for the Friends sitcom.

Jennifer discussed a variety of topics, but the hair chat came out when the trio discussed playing one of the female leads on the hit Seventies show Three’s Company.

That popular sitcom had Suzanne Somers as Chrissy and Joyce DeWitt as Janet in the leads, opposite the late John Ritter who starred as Jack.

The Rachel Green star said she was not too into taking the role Janet that DeWitt played, due to her reluctance over cutting her hair.

Jennifer then asked Drew: “You could do short hair?”

Drew replied: “I love Janet. She’s a real no-nonsense gal… I’m much more Janet, you’re much more Chrissy.”

Chrissy had long blonde hair and was played by sex symbol Suzanne Somers who is also known for plugging exercise tools.

Jennifer has regretted having short hair in the past, cutting it in 2001 when she was on Friends and married to Brad Pitt.

Speaking to Elle.UK.com at the time, Jennifer said: “I actually just cut all my hair off two days ago. It wasn’t for a role. My hair went through a phase — I did this thing called a Brazilian and my hair did not react really well to it.”

Her hair stylist, Chris McMillan, did the cut at the time, with Jennifer telling Allure: “Chris just chopped it all off, so now it’s just sort of there.

“It’s short! It’s at my jawline and a little shorter in the back. It’s just choppy, like a choppy bob, I guess you could say.”

However, Jennifer admitted Chris was the same man who gave her The Rachel, with the actress admitting this was not her “best look”.

She continued to the aforementioned publication: “I think it was the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen.”

However, when appearing on Entertainment Tonight, Jennifer admitted she did actually enjoy the different hairstyle at first.

She said on Entertainment Tonight: “I really did enjoy it when it first happened. I was like, ‘That’s really different from what I’ve ever had before’. It lasted for about six months.”

Her longtime friend and co-star Adam Sandler then asked for her reasoning for changing her signature hairstyle.

She added: “I just started growing it out. And it was too hard because I couldn’t do it on my own.”
