Jennifer Aniston critiqued by Adam Sandler over kissing technique
Comedy icons Adam Sandler, 56, and Jennifer Aniston, 54, share a few smooches on-screen in the Murder Mystery franchise as they portray married couple Audrey and Nick Spitz, however, The Water Boy star assured fans that on-set the moments were far from romantic.
While promoting the Murder Mystery sequel, Adam recalled their kiss in the 2019 film, revealing all the details about the cringeworthy encounter.
He told USA Today that after the first take, the Friends star asked him to use some oil on his beard specifically for the scene, and while he seemingly agreed, the Grown Ups star was presented with an entirely new problem when he arrived on set.
He said Jennifer would lean in for the kiss with a “big wide mouth”, which he instantly criticised saying: “For God’s sake, keep your mouth closed!”
“It was so wide! Every time, she’d come with a big, wide mouth, and I’d be like: ‘Whoa-ho-ho-ho-ho, whoa! What are we doing?'”

The acting duo have often appeared alongside each other in film and TV, but rarely in intimate roles like this.
The other exception is the 2011 rom-com Just Go With It, where their final peck seals the film with a satisfying ending, although in Jennifer’s defence, the actor was sans-beard at this time.
Throughout their press run for Murder Mystery 2, Jennifer and Adam have shown off their hilarious chemistry, including a blunder-filled interview on This Morning with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
Adam recalled how the long-time friends first met three decades ago saying: “I met her at breakfast. She was eating eggs with ham and cheese. I’d like to have a cooler story that she was choking and I saved her but no she was talking with her mouth (full of food).”
Jennifer argued: “That is just not true!” and Adam admitted he’d made it up while the We’re The Millers star recalled: “He had French toast and chocolate milk, like a good 22-year-old man would.”
The actors were interviewed live via a video connection as they were in Paris for their premiere, with the lag leading to some stilted awkward silences throughout their conversation, but the penultimate blunder came as Jennifer accidentally swore.
Talking about a prank Adam had pulled on her while they were filming on the top of the Eiffel Tower, Jennifer declared: “Yeah just for s**ts and giggles.”
The startled actress quickly covered her mouth saying: “I’m sure you can bleep that,” before Phillip explained: “No no it’s live, but we love it, we love it, it’s fine.”
