JEE Main 2023 Topper Story: Maharashtra’s Dnyanesh Shinde moved to Kota for JEE Mains preparations – Times of India

Mumbai: Chandrapur boy, Dnyanesh Shinde, one of the 20 toppers in JEE (Main) – phase I, with a 100 percentile, moved to Kota five years ago to prepare for entrance tests. While he is originally from Maharashtra, he has given the exam from Rajasthan. Barring him, the state topper, as per the National Testing Agency (NTA) list, is Shubham Somani with 99.99 percentile. The first phase of JEE (Main) was held in January. The agency will release the final merit list after the conducting the second phase of the exam. In the first phase, 20 students bagged 100 percentile.
Seventeen-year-old Shinde scored 285 out of 300 in the test with a 100 percentile. “I first went to Kota to participate in the Junior Science Olympiad in class VIII and then I started the preparation for JEE (Main) in class X. Then for three years, I have been focussing on my preparation,” said the student of Disha Delphi Public School in Kota. Five years ago, Shinde moved to Kota with his mother to focus on the preparation. His mother, also a gold medallist in M Sc-Biology, stayed with him as he prepared for the entrance test. His father is an MBA and sister is pursuing medicine from Maharashtra.
Shinde said that pandemic initially had hit his studies, but the coaching classes he was enrolled with, ensured that the gap was not long with virtual coaching. He is keen on pursuing computer science and engineering or Aeronautics engineering from one of the premier IITs. When not studying, he tries his hand at guitar and keyboard. “When I return to Chandrapur for holidays, I spent time with my hobbies,” he said.
