Jazz’s Jordan Clarkson goes unrecognized in local TV interview

A local television reporter failed to recognize Jordan Clarkson in his home city.

The reporter was interviewing Clarkson for KUTV in Salt Lake City. She asked the 29-year-old guard if he attended any Jazz games last season. Clarkson responded as if he were an avid fan.

The reporter, Hayley Crombleholme, also asked Clarkson to spell out his name but still didn’t make the connection. She said afterward she was “highly embarrassed” by the interaction.

Although Crombleholme was taunted on social media platforms, Clarkson added a humorous touch to try to move the encounter away from mainstream attention.

Clarkson’s teammate Joe Ingles offered his own reaction to the interview. Clarkson responded with more light humor to keep the reporter from receiving backlash.

Clarkson has played for the Lakers, Cavaliers and Jazz in his NBA career. Since joining Utah in the 2019-20 season, he has averaged 17.3 points per game. He was the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year last season after averaging 18.4 points in 68 games (one start).

If he can help the Jazz push through to the NBA Finals, he may never go unrecognized again in Salt Lake City.
