After clarifying that she in not against transgender people, Jaya maintained she only has love for everyone including her “closest friends” from the LGBTQIA+ community who she said “know [her] well.”

The singer said this through her Twitter page on Thursday, April 6, days after she responded to comedian John Lapus who alluded to an unnamed singer for apparently liking anti-transgender tweets.

“[Research] and dig deep to form your opinions on matters that matter to you. Then have a respectful and honest conversation without making it personal,” Jaya stated.

“Once again, I am against children being exploited. That is it. Nothing more, nothing less,” she stressed. “But if you like, you may also unfollow me. Love to you all.”

Jaya then stressed to her Twitter followers that they have the freedom to “do, say and believe” what they want, noting how they can unfollow her on the platform if they want to.

“Thank you and this will be it for now. Will rest and pray for wisdom,” she stated. “Father in Heaven, please take the wheel. I only have love for you all.”

“To all my LGBT friends, who have been my closest friends for more than 40 years and who do know me well, love you and you know my [heart],” she continued.

Netizens seemed to have concluded that Lapus was referring to Jaya in his tweet, as they pointed out that the singer liked tweets from Gays Against Groomers, which is an organization of gays that claims to be “against the sexualization, indoctrination and medicalization of children under the guise of ‘LGBTQIA+.’”

Drag queen DeeDee Marie Holliday also called the singer an “anti-trans” while showing a screenshot of the latter’s liked tweets.

Lapus has yet to confirm or deny if he was referring to the singer in his tweet, as of this writing.  /ra
