Jason Manford inundated with support after ‘heartbreaking’ family loss
Jason Manford’s fans have flooded the comedian with support, following the announcement that one of his close family members had died.
On Monday, the 42-year-old posted a series of images in tribute to his nana, whose funeral he had recently attended.
He shared four throwback snaps and five images in total with his 381,000 followers, including a recent picture of the pair beaming in front of The Ivy restaurant in Manchester.
In another photograph, Jason and his relative – who he fondly names as “Nana Manford” – can be seen arm-in-arm inside a pub.
A firm Manchester City supporter, a third photograph posted by the comedian shows his late nana holding up a sky blue scarf with the phrase ‘Man City’ written on it.

In the final photograph of Nana Manford, she can be seen sporting a pink knitted cardigan over a tropical-print blouse.
She also has on a backwards black cap and is laughing at the camera.
The last image in the tribute carousel is a picture of some stunning flower arrangements, which spell out ‘Nana Manford’ and ‘Mum’.
In the caption of the emotional post, Jason wrote: “We said goodbye to this legend today! Such a precious soul and I’ll miss her always.”
He then included a lyric from the Nat King Cole song, Nature Boy: “The greatest thing, you’ll ever learn, is just to love, and to be loved in return.”
He ended the sweet farewell message by saying “Goodnight Nana Manford xx.”
Fans have come out in their droves to support the father-of-six at this deeply upsetting time.
One Instagram user wrote: “Great quote and what a lovely life she’s had surrounded by love (sic) thinking of you all”.
Another said: “That’s the hardest thing in the world the last goodbye sent you a hug.”
A third shared their own story of loss, in the hopes of comforting the grieving comedian.
They wrote: “I know how you feel Jason I lost my grandad last year he was 98 and an absolute legend I feel very privileged and lucky to have had him in my life for 52 years, here’s hoping Nana Manford and my grandad are dancing in the sky.”
Elsewhere, a Manchester City fan commented: “She is gonna make (sic) them win the treble on Saturday. I just know it. Call it a parting gift.”
Back in March, Jason revealed that his grandmother had stopped eating and admitted that the situation was “heartbreaking”.
In a statement posted to Instagram, he wrote: “It’s heartbreaking if I’m honest, especially to see my dad upset.
“But we’re staying strong as a family, lots of laughs and spent more time than was necessary rubbing hand cream into those 99-year-old hands.”
It’s thought that Nana Manford was 99 when she died.
