Jared Goff and model fiancée Christen Harper savor Italian getaway before Lions training camp

It’s been a sweet summer so far for Lions quarterback Jared Goff and his fiancée, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Christen Harper.

The longtime couple recently traveled to Italy, where they lounged at the beach in Capri and took in some cooking classes in Amalfi, according to Instagram posts shared by Harper.

“Cooking and eating and drinking and eating,” the model, 30, quipped in a caption from Thursday.

In one video, Harper — who appeared in this year’s edition of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit — can be seen smiling as she wanders through a garden while holding a glass of wine.

Goff, 28, can also be seen sitting in a chair while looking out toward the water in a separate post.

The trip comes roughly a year after Goff and Harper got engaged in romantic beach setting.

“6.16.22. The best night of my life,” Harper gushed at the time.

The couple, who has been linked since 2019, is expected to tie the knot next summer.

Goff and Harper are making the most of their R&R as training camp looms in July.

The quarterback is entering his third season in Detroit following a blockbuster trade in January 2021, when the Lions acquired Goff from the Rams, who received Matthew Stafford in return.

Harper recounted the life-altering moment to Stafford’s wife, Kelly, on her “Morning After” podcast earlier this month.

“I remember hearing Detroit and I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ I’ve never been there, and of course, I’ve never been to Michigan either, and so I had never heard a single positive thing about Detroit, and so I was really not sure what we were getting ourselves into,” Harper recalled.

“And then of course you get there and I’m like, ‘This place is amazing.’”

Goff, who was originally drafted first-overall by the Rams in 2016, thrived in his second season in Detroit, throwing for 4,438 yards and 29 touchdowns against seven interceptions.

He’s continued to impress third-year Lions coach Dan Campbell, who recently remarked the quarterback is “better” in Detroit than he was in Los Angeles.

“I think what you’re seeing is a guy who just put his head down and went back to work, worked on what he could, tried to improve on what he could,” Campbell said. “He’s a better quarterback than he was [in Los Angeles], in my opinion, because he can do more things. He’s mentally on it.”

The Lions, who finished last year at 9-8, will open the season against the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs on Thursday, Sept. 7.
