Jane Fonda, 84, turns 85 tomorrow and has lots to celebrate after announcing she was in remission after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
However, the date, December 21st, shares more significance to the Hollywood star as it was the date she married her “favourite” husband, Ted Turner.
The pair were married in 1991 when Jane was in her early fifties, with the star having already been married twice.
Although both parties acknowledge they attempted to fix things with marriage counselling, their official separation was announced in January 2000.
In 2016, five decades after she found stardom, Jane auctioned off 800 personal items, including her wedding dress and engagement ring from Ted.

Jane Fonda’s engagement ring was estimated to sell for $2,000 (£1,645) to $4,000 (£3,289) but it went for $19,200 (£15,787), almost five times its top estimate in 2016. The couple reportedly went together to Tiffany’s on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills in the fall of 1990 to shop for Jane’s engagement ring.

Leading diamond expert, Maxwell Stone, commented on Jane Fonda’s engagement ring. Despite the ring being sold at auction for $19,200 (£15,787), I’d estimate the ring to be worth $10,000 (£8,223). It’s likely that it went for a higher value at auction due to its celebrity status.”

Jane Fonda has been married three times and is now reportedly single
Jane Fonda first married Roger Vadim in 1965, with the couple being together for three years before welcoming their first and only child Vanessa, in September 1968. Shortly after her divorce was finalized in 1973, Jane walked down the aisle, this time with Tom Hayden, that same year. Just months later in July, the Book Club star gave birth to the couple’s son, Troy Garity. They also later adopted their daughter, Mary Luana Williams, when she was 15 years old in 1982. Jane and the late activist, who died in 2016, enjoyed 17 years of marriage before going their separate ways in 1990.
