Jamie Oliver takes fans inside daughter Poppy’s 21st and Buddy looks so grown up
The Oliver clan celebrated in style on Sunday night when they rang in Poppy’s 21st birthday.
Poppy is the oldest of the five children superstar chef Jamie Oliver shares with his wife Jools and looked gorgeous on her big day, posing for snaps alongside her famous family in a chic black dress.
But it was 47-year-old Jamie and 48-year-old Jools’ second youngest child, son Buddy, who really caught fans’ attention.
Many of doting dad Jamie’s 9.4million Instagram followers simply couldn’t believe how much Buddy, 12, had grown up and took to the comment section to say so.
Beneath the three fab photos Jamie posted of his daughter’s celebrations, one person wrote: ‘Happy Birthday Poppy! On a side note, look how grown-up Buddy looks?’
Another Instagrammer echoed: ‘Gorgeous family. When did Buddy grow up?’ while someone else added: ‘How grown up does Buddy look?’
Other comments included: ‘When did Buddy become an adult?’ and ‘The family is growing up so fast.’
Jamie captioned his post: ‘Me and the gang on my daughter Poppy’s 21 st birthday party…..what’s a night …Thanks to all that celebrated with us and who helped put the party together big love Jamie.’ [sic]
Jamie and Jools welcomed Poppy in 2002 and just a year later had another daughter, Daisy.
In 2009 their third daughter Petal was born, followed by Buddy in 2009.
The loved-up couple had their fifth child, little River, in 2016, although he was nowhere to be seen on Sunday night.
The celebrations come after Jamie revealed he and Jools secretly took in Ukrainian refugees when thousands of people were forced to flee their homes in search of safety after Russia’s President Vladimir Putin invaded last year.
Appearing as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia this month, the celebrity chef shared that he’s still living with two Ukrainian families.
Tucking into a Russian and Ukrainian dish called borscht and pampushka, made by contestant Larissa, Jamie remarked: ‘With things going on in the world at the moment, it’s kind of profound you’re here this year with both a Russian and Ukrainian dish.’
He went on: ‘Can I give you a little secret that no one really knows? I have had two Ukrainian families living with me for the, like, the last seven months.
‘We have done fundraisers with top chefs from Ukraine, so I have had my fair share of borscht.’
