Jamia Hamdard organises induction programme for UG & PG batches of Occupational Therapy – Times of India
NEW DELHI: Department of Occupational Therapy, School of Nursing Sciences and Allied Health, Jamia Hamdard organised an Induction programme to welcome the newly admitted students of Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and Master of Occupational Therapy (Batch 2022-2023).
The event was proceeded with the formal welcome of the newly admitted students by Dr. Ruchi Nagar Buckshee (O.T.), Head, Department of Occupational Therapy. She explained about the programmes offered in the Department and its brief history. She also emphasized on the career opportunities for the Occupational Therapy professionals.
Prof. (Dr.) Manju Chhugani, Dean, SNSAH blessed the students and encouraged them to be active in all the steps of lives, not only study but also in the extra curricular activities.
The chief guest for the event was Dr. Arun Kumar Agarwal, President, Delhi Council for Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy; Former Dean, Department of ENT, MAMC, New Delhi. Dr. Arun K. Agarwal congratulated the students and motivated them towards the path of success with his golden words.
The event was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard. Prof. M. Afshar Alam Saheb, enlightened the students about Jamia Hamdard’s growth and success and also talked about our university’s ranking.
To mark the Induction programme, various dignitaries and members of Occupational Therapy unit of Delhi Council for Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy – Dr. Sunita Pasricha (O.T.), Dr. Vijay Batra (O.T.), Dr. Durgesh Pathak (O.T.), Dr. Ashish Jha (O.T.) were felicitated.
Dr. Nishat Quddus (P.T.), Deputy Proctor, Jamia Hamdard had given an overview of Anti ragging and Disciplinary policies in Jamia Hamdard. Dr. Zeenat Iqbal, Deputy Dean, Student’s Welfare, also interacted with the students and explained the various scholarships and other benefits that the University provides to the students. As the event progressed, Dr. Sohrab A. Khan (P.T.), Sports Secretary explained about the various extra curricular opportunities available in Jamia Hamdard for the students. Dr. Shubha Arora (O.T.) had beautifully delivered the vote of thanks and concluded the event.
Under the flagship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, the Dept. of Occupational Therapy, has taken initiative to organize this event. The Department of Occupational Therapy acknowledges and is thankful to the Jamia Hamdard administration for their positive support and guidance in the successful accomplishment of the Induction programme.
