James Martin fires back as viewer brands him a ‘chubby t**t’ over Saturday Morning repeat
TV chef James Martin, 49, has been praised by fans for his witty retort in response to an angry ITV viewer, who furiously questioned why his show Saturday Morning was being repeated on a Thursday. It comes after the 2020 episode of James Martin’s Saturday Morning at Christmas aired today at 6.55am on ITV, as TV schedules have been shaken up this week due to the festive period.
Although many fans enjoyed rewatching James’ Christmas special, one viewer slammed the cook on Twitter, branding him a “chubby t**t” and claiming he was “bored to tears” by the programme.
Twitter user Carl275x fumed: “James Martin’s Saturday morning on a f**king Thursday it is Thursday, right?
“Or are we now all stuck in some hellish groundhog day where that chubby t**t bores us to tears with his s**tty cooking for all eternity?!”
However, James didn’t hold back in replying to the disgruntled ITV viewer in view of his 714,000 followers.

The presenter cheekily hit back: “Morning Carl … just to correct you on one point it’s for a few hours only …
“Happy Christmas,” he concluded.
It wasn’t long before James’ tweet was inundated with comments from fans who enjoyed his mischievous comeback, including the ITV viewer who had complained.
Carl wrote back to James: “Lol, I wasn’t expecting that. Fair play, you’ve got a sense of humour.”
Glen Cochrane penned: “Have to admit I got up yesterday and it was on and I was like “wtf day is it” was fairly sure it wasn’t Saturday but that’s what this time o year is all about.. every day feels like the weekend and you ain’t got a clue what day it actually is till you check.”
Matthew Cadwallader praised James, commenting: “Loving your classy response.”
It comes after viewers were left confused after Saturday Morning replaced Good Morning Britain on Wednesday morning this week.
James’ lifestyle show took GMB’s place after ITV pulled the show off air between Christmas and New Year due to Covid concerns.
GMB has been off air from December 27, 2021.
The situation marks the first time the news show has been dropped from the schedules.
An ITV spokeswoman recently confirmed: “GMB was due to be on air from Weds 29th – Fri 31st December 2021 but due to the pandemic and to protect our teams, we have decided to give them an extended break.
“GMB will not broadcast next week, but will be back on air on Tues 4th Jan 2022.”
