James Acaster and Ed Gamble were up to their usual tricks in tonight’s episode of Celebrity Hunted.

On their seventh day of evading capture from the team of celebrity hunters, the pair sought refuge in a tattoo parlour in Bristol.

And so, naturally, 38-year-old James gave his comedian buddy Ed, 37, a tattoo to mark the occasion, and yep, it’s absolutely awful.

We’re unsure if this is a great big hoax from the jokers, but it’s a good one if it is, because there’s even footage of Ed going under the unsteady hand of James armed with a great big tattoo gun.

The result? A tally chart on his lower leg, with seven strikes to represent every day survived in the challenge.

We’re sure Ed will come to regret that inky decision, if it is indeed etched onto him forever.

But if there’s any comedy duo we’d expect this from it’s these two, who co-host their chart-topping podcast, Off Menu, where they quiz famous faces on their dream dinner.

Tattoo-gate came just before the pair decided to laugh in the face of the hunters and camp out in the house of Channel 4’s beloved comedy show Taskmaster.

One viewer thought the moves pretty legendary, as they wrote: ‘James giving Ed a tattoo then deciding to go to the Taskmaster house, iconic’.

Another said: ‘feeling insane about james acaster and his little moustache doing a tattoo’.

As regular guests on Taskmaster, the pair proclaimed to know the building – which hosts comedians completing hilarious tasks – like the ‘back of [their] hand’, as they described their new mission to capture the captors.

‘We have to hunt the hunted now,’ said James, as they armed themselves with waterguns, which they planned to use as defence weapons.

When it eventually got down to it though, the plan proved to be a little ambitious and viewers were left on a cliffhanger of James squirting what he claimed was ‘piss’ (but actually wasn’t) at the hunters.

‘This is piss. Eat piss. This is piss,’ James yelled behind him, while trying to run away.

Celebrity Hunted fans were in bits at the dramatic ending, as one wrote: ‘Eat piss will be trending soon’.

‘James Acaster + Ed Gamble are deffo carrying this series!’ commented another.

You can catch Hunted and Celebrity Hunted on Channel 4.
