Jadon Sancho says Manchester United’s squad is strong enough to win the Champions League this season.

United have struggled for consistency and form this season domestically, but find themselves in the last-16 in Europe’s premier competition.

Ralf Rangnick’s side battled back to earn a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie against Atletico Madrid in midweek, with substitute Anthony Elanga netting the equaliser at the Wanda Metropolitano.

United welcome Atletico back to Old Trafford for the return leg on March 15 with a chance to progress to the quarter-finals.

Although he acknowledges it would be tough, Sancho thinks going all the way is ‘definitely doable’ for the Red Devils.

‘I feel like we have a strong enough squad to win the Champions League, I really believe that,’ Sancho told United’s website.

‘But we all have to work for each other and for us to even get close to the final we have to go game-by-game.

‘It’s going to be a tough challenge, but I feel like with the players we have and the experience we have then it’s definitely doable. And for sure I will do my best.’

£73million signing Sancho endured a slow start to his career at Old Trafford after joining United from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, however, the 21-year-old’s form has improved in recent weeks.

‘I’ve been playing a lot of football recently,’ he added. ‘I guess that’s because I’ve been working a lot harder and believing in myself a lot more and just trying to make things happen.

‘I’m just happy that my team-mates are believing in me and giving me support, especially when I go one-v-one, and hearing the fans when they cheer me on and are telling me to get at my opponent… I’m delighted with my performances.’
