J P Nadda to kick-start BJP campaign for 2022 Uttarakhand assembly polls
While Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to visit the state to attend “Sainik Samman” programme on November 20, BJP’s national general secretary (Organization) BL Santosh may visit Dehradun in the last week of November.
“National general secretary BL Santosh will attend the state executive committee’s meeting which would be held in the last week of November,” said Suresh Joshi, spokesperson of the Uttarakhand BJP.
BJP chief Nadda will hold talks with the coordinators of 28 assembly seats which fall under the Almora and Udham Singh Nagar Lok Sabha seats during his stay in Kumaon. BJP has formed core committee in all the 70 assembly seats of the state, and it is headed by a coordinator.
Nadda’s presence in Udham Singh Nagar is considered politically significant in view of the challenges BJP is facing there due to farmers’ agitation and exit of former minister Yashpal Arya from the party’s fold. Nadda will also attend a programme “Sainik Samman” in Chamoli district.
The meetings of BJP’s district executive committee will be held between November 20 to 30 across the state. Between December 1 to 12, the party will hold meetings of its divisional (Mandal) committees. These meetings are politically significant for the party before the beginning of “Vishan Sabha Sammellan”.
“The party wants to put up a good political show in every assembly seats between December 15 to 20,” a source in the BJP said. The party also wants to take out “Rath Yatra” and seek people’s suggestions for giving final shape to its election manifesto.
The party has also decided to organize “Vijay Sankalp Yatra” in all the 70 assembly seats from December 1.
Union minister Pralhad Joshi, who is in-charge of Uttarakhand BJP, held meetings over the last week and gave shape to the plans. He has also emphasized on forming direct connect with the party workers on a regular basis.
