ITV Corrie’s Daisy and Nicky set for ‘old school’ scrap on the cobbles

There’s set to be fireworks on the famous cobbles as Daniel’s former love interest Nicky Wheatley returns.

Former sex worker Nicky, who helped widower Daniel to navigate through his grief following the death of his beloved wife Sinead, will soon be back on our screens, played by Kimberly Hart-Simpson.

And there’s a frosty reception in store for Nicky from Daniel’s current girlfriend Daisy Midgeley, played by Charlotte Jordan.

The Rovers Return barmaid sees Nicky as a threat and tries to get rid of her, Charlotte told the Manchester Evening News and other press.

Barmaid Daisy finally got her man earlier this month

“She ends up making everything about her,” she told us.

“Daisy being Daisy won’t go about it the right way but it does come from a place of fear and a place of wanting to be with him, wanting to protect what they have.”

Charlotte, who arrived in Weatherfield in November 2020 as the stepmother of Rovers landlady Jenny Connor, says she’s looking forward to locking horns with Nicky in an ‘old school’ showdown.

Nicky and Daniel met at a drinks reception

“It’s what Corrie is known for, its strong women showdowns,” she said.

“So hopefully we can scrap these restrictions and get it done old school style, that would be lovely.

“She’s not a character that would roll over and take it.”

Daisy finally got together with teacher Daniel recently after they had an on-off secret romance in the soap for months.

Daniel and Daisy hurled insults and then they kissed

Passion spilled over earlier this month after they traded insults and they ended up kissing.

Daniel then ended his relationship with new girlfriend, Lydia Chambers.

Asked if she would like to see Daisy settle down with Daniel, Charlotte reckons a solid relationship would ‘even her out.’

But she enjoys playing a minxy character.

“It’s the fun stuff isn’t it, nobody wants to be too nice,” she said.

Kimberly arrived as Nicky in Corrie in June 2020 and she left in September that year.

Nicky came into Daniel’s life when his nephew Adam Barlow decided it was time for him to get out and about following the death of Sinead from cervical cancer in October 2019.

The pair hit it off at a drinks reception but Daniel was shocked to realise she was charging for his time when he asked to see her again.

But he decided to meet up with her in a hotel and paid her £220 as he opened up to her about missing his late wife.

He paid her to wear his wife’s clothes and it soon became clear that Daniel had feelings for her, urging her to quit her life as a sex worker.

When Nicky ended up in hospital following a nasty attack, Daniel stole money from vile Geoff Metcalfe and gave it to the single mum so she could start a new life.
