Fans have been speculating that a new theme song for “Eat Bulaga” will be unveiled by TAPE Inc., the production company behind the revamped noontime show, after it dropped a teaser showing the hosts listening to an unreleased track.

In the video shown on TAPE’s Facebook page on July 26, EB hosts Cassy and Mavy Legaspi, Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya as well as guest hosts Dasuri Choi, Kimpoy Feliciano, Winwyn Marquez, Chariz Solomon and Yasser Marta can be seen grooving after hearing the track that plays on the headphone given to them.

“Malapit niyo na itong mapakinggan!” TAPE said, adding musical notes emoji. (You will be hearing this soon!)

“Ngayong Sabado (July 29) na. Ito na talaga!” the caption in the video read. (Out this Saturday, July 29. This is it!)

Coincidentally, the 44th anniversary of the original “Eat Bulaga” is also on Saturday, July 29. The occasion was not mentioned in the video teaser.

Fans, who appeared to be convinced that a new theme song will be unveiled, were excited as they looked forward to hearing the track.

Meanwhile, original “Eat Bulaga” mainstays Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon (TVJ), who headline the TV5 noontime show “E.A.T.,” earlier filed copyright infringement and unfair competition complaints against TAPE and GMA Network.

The trio also filed a petition for the issuance of a writ of preliminary injunction to stop the production company and the Kapuso network from using the name, logo and other devices by the new “Eat Bulaga” while the copyright infringement and unfair competition case is pending.

The first court hearing on the petition for injunction was held on Thursday, July 27.  /ra
