The beginning of outages began in the early hours of May 1.
Reports of outages peaked on May 2 around 2.28pm local time.
At that time a total of 5,427 reports came in at Downdetector of users having issues.

A total of 70 percent of users have reported issues with video streaming.
Only 20 percent of users are reporting issues with the app itself.
11 percent of users are having issues with the HBO Max website itself.
According to Downdetector, the majority of the outages are happening along the East Coast in areas like New York, Boston, and Washington DC.

Another user chimed in writing: “is the hbo max site down for y’all or does it just want me to scream”
HBO Max Help has not written a tweet about the May 2022 outages as of yet.
