Until then, only guests who are already at the centre can stay there.

What have Center Parcs said?

With the announcement of the Queen passing away, Center Parcs posted on Twitter: “We are deeply saddened to hear the news that Queen Elizabeth II has passed away and we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Royal Family.”

Five days later, they issued the statement found above about closing on the day of the Queen’s funeral.

This made many visitors unhappy as their work leave was taken and couldn’t change the dates of their travel.

Center Parcs were also expecting some of their guests to leave the village on September 19 and then return the next day.

However, following the backlash from such decision, they decided to reverse this and allow guests to remain.

They said: “The vast majority of our guests are either due to arrive or depart on Monday 19th September.

“We have, however, reviewed our position regarding the very small number of guests who are not due to depart on Monday, and we will be allowing them to stay on our villages rather than having to leave and return on Tuesday.

“The villages will still remain closed on Monday, and we will be offering a discount for the lack of facilities available on that day.”
