iPhone ‘name changing THIS year’ in shock update to Apple smartphones
APPLE could be preparing to make a big name change for the iPhone.
The much-rumoured iPhone 14 Max may not actually be called this in the end.
Instead, the tech giant is considering a different moniker that will serve as a nod to the past for some.
According to leaker Lanzuk, the Plus name is making a comeback.
You may remember the last time we had a plus title was way back on the iPhone 8 Plus.
Of course, it’s just a rumour for now so best to take it with a pinch of salt until Apple announces something officially later this year.
Other models are expected to retain their current name.
The four-device line-up could look like this: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The new Plus – or Max – hasn’t even been confirmed yet.
It’ll apparently be the standard iPhone except it’ll have a much bigger display.

This leaves the two iPhone 14 Pro devices to offer all the fancy extra specs.
The Plus / Max is expected to replace the iPhone 14 mini.
All this comes as Apple celebrates a huge iPhone anniversary today.
It’s 15 years since the first iPhone was released.
