Finding them is simple enough: you may have seen them already, but never tapped one.

But if you can get into the habit of using them, you’ll save loads of time.

Apple calls them Quick Actions, and you’ll find them on the Home Screen.

All you need to do is press and hold on an app icon, revealing a hidden menu packed with buttons.

But Apple warns: “Note: If you touch and hold an app for too long before choosing a quick action, all of the apps begin to jiggle.

“Tap Done (on an iPhone with Face ID) or press the Home button (on other iPhone models), then try again.”

These Quick Actions can unlock some seriously useful iPhone hacks.

They’re designed to let you get to useful app functions without having to navigate through loads of menus.

Plenty of Apple apps offer Quick Actions.

For instance, the stock iPhone camera lets you navigate to Portrait Selfie, Portrait, Record Video and Selfie.

On Apple Maps, you can Mark My Location, Send My Location, and Search Nearby.

With Settings, you can flash to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, and Battery.

And Apple Music lets you Play Most Recent, Play My Station, and Search.

Of course you can also use them on third-party apps.

WhatsApp users can quickly get to My QR Code (for sharing your details with others in person), Camera, New Chat, or Search.

With the Instagram icon, you can launch DMs, Notifications, New Post, or the Camera.

Google Maps lets you open up Saved, Your Contributions, or Send My Location.

And YouTube offers up Shorts, Search, Subscriptions, and Create.

TikTok Quick Actions include Start Recording, Notifications, Friends, and Scan.

Meanwhile LinkedIn gives you Share, Scan QR Code, New Message, and Search as Quick Actions.

However, note that not all apps offer Quick Actions.
