Instagram: Instagram is reportedly testing feature that allows posting GIFs as replies on posts – Times of India

Instagram is reportedly testing a new feature that enables users to comment on posts with animated images, or GIFs. Users can search for GIFs and pull them from GIPHY to post them as a reply in the comments section.
Media reports suggest that the feature is rolled out to only a handful of users. Some have even shared screenshots on the Internet showing that they posted a GIF in a reply to a post on Instagram. The Times of India-Gadgets Now team checked to verify the claims and found that we were unable to post GIFs in the comments section.
“Instagram doesn’t support image insertion here,” the message read. Reportedly, the feature may have a wider rollout in the coming weeks.

Instagram Channels
Recently, CEO of Facebook parent Meta Mark Zuckerberg launched ‘Channels’ broadcast chat feature that will let creators share messages with their followers and engage with them.
The top executive of the company announced the feature by creating a channel and named it “Meta Channel”.
“Hey everyone! We’re starting to roll out Instagram channels — a new broadcast chat feature. I’m starting this channel to share news and updates on all the products and tech we’re building at Meta. This will be the place I share Meta product news first,” Zuckerberg said in the channel.
