Instagram Corgi is so famous he’s worked alongside Helena Bonham Carter

Marcel, a seven-year-old Corgi has accumulated over 140,000 Instagram followers on Instagram, making him a social media icon. Marcel from Greenwich is owned by Aurelie and Pierre, who have built such a rapport online for their beloved animal that he even made friends with an A-list celebrity.

Aurelie and Pierre recently revealed Marcel has become the first ever dog to receive an invite to the Chelsea Flower Show which took place last week.

Back in April, the famous corgi also had the chance to model next to actress Helena Bonham-Carter in a Harper’s Bazaar photoshoot.

Marcel has been given the nickname “Marcel, Prince Hairy of Wales”, due to the dog breed’s connection to the royal family.

Aurelie, a wedding photographer created Marcel’s Instagram after she moved to London with her partner Pierre around seven years ago.

She told MyLondon : “I started it the day we took him home just for fun.

“Mainly because I didn’t want to flood my personal facebook pictures with dog photos, like some of my friends did with baby photos.

“And then it just grew, it was very organic.”

The dog has also carried a ring for a surprise proposal for a fan in Greenwich park.
