Instagram and Facebook ‘down’ – apps ‘not working’ as thousands complain

INSTAGRAM and Facebook are reportedly down for thousands of users.

Reports of issues with the Instagram and Facebook apps are flooding into the Downdetector website in the US.

There are also some users reporting issues in the UK.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Meta, which owns both apps, for comment.

Downdetector has over 7,000 reports of issues with Instagram in the US.

Around 75 percent of those issues are with the app itself.

A smaller number of people have reported issues with logging in and the website.

Meanwhile, there are almost 13,000 Downdetector reports of Facebook being down at the time of writing.

Around 62 percent of those complaints are with the website.

Facebook Messenger is also said to be having issues.

Lots of people have taken to Twitter to complain.

One person said: “Facebook is seriously down. Fatal error!”

Another person added: “It’s always scary to work using tools managed by a different company because when they go down, I can’t do my job #facebookdown #instagramdown.”

Another complained: “Idk why I keep my Instagram and Facebook open when they’re down like every other week.”

However, some people still seem to be able to access the apps.
