FOR most of us, the word caravan conjures images of small white boxes by the sea with a humble hatchback parked next to it.

But this Italian caravan is different; it costs a cool £1million and is larger than the average two-bed flat inside.

It’s made by a company called CMC Caravan which builds bespoke caravans for the rich and famous.

CMC calls this, The Athena, a caravan, but you won’t be towing it to the seaside with your Ford Focus.

For starters you won’t get it down the country lanes, but you’ll also need an HGV to pull it along.

The Athena is four metres tall and 15 metres long when in towing mode, but once pitched it opens up to provide 1076 square feet inside.

This one has two bedrooms inside, but The Athena is bigger than the average two-bed flat in Britain.

CMC caravans are totally bespoke and the way CMC has kitted out The Athena is jaw-dropping.

Luxury leather and Italian marble is found everywhere and the vast kitchen has the finest appliances and a gas fire.

The bathroom is stunning, with a massive walk-in shower and more marble on every surface.

Then there’s the bedroom, with a down-lit king-size bed and proper wardrobes for two.

And to round things off there’s a veranda outside with electric awnings for those warm summer evenings.

Of course, none of this comes cheap – the Athena reportedly costs £1million but CMC will make whatever you want, for whatever cost.
