Inside the only Maldives-style overwater bungalows in Egypt

THE OVERWATER bungalows typically found in the Maldives are a dream for many travellers, but getting there isn’t always possible.

But Brits visiting the Panorama Bungalows near Hurghada, in Egypt, can have the same experience without travelling or paying as much.

The Panorama resort offers different types of bungalows, from pool and beach bungalows, garden view and family bungalows to the iconic overwater bungalows.

Located overlooking El Gouna, a town on Egypt’s Red Sea near Hurghada, the Panorama resort features gardens and a private beach on a lagoon.

The hotel features two swimming pools with a kids’ section, a Jacuzzi, a pool bar and a private beach.

The hotel boasts more than 120 rooms and 42 bungalows, and they all come with a balcony or terrace, air conditioning, TVs, wifi, safety deposit, as well as a mini-fridge and tea and coffee makers.

The resort also offers a spa and wellness centre, with hot tubs, massages and saunas.

The main restaurant at the hotel offers an international breakfast buffet, lunch buffet and different themed dinner buffets.

Guests can also take part in water sports like surfing, waterskiing, sailing and windsurfing, and activities such as tennis and horse riding.

The resort also has a kids’ club and entertainment available every night.

All the prices are based on two adults travelling together and sharing accommodation on an all-inclusive basis.
