Inside Ewan McGregor’s retro VW Camper van collection

EWAN McGregor’s retro VW camper van collection has been revealed, while the film superstar is also looking forward to an all-new electric model to transport the family on holiday.

The Scottish actor confessed that he’s loved Volkswagen cars since he was a kid, mainly because he grew up watching his grandad working on old motors and bikes in his garage.

In the 70s, Ewan’s parents owned a Beetle that they used to go on holidays every year – often travelling from Scotland to Brittany in France.

Later, when he was 14 years old, he worked as a pot washer at the Murraypark Hotel in Crieff to pay for his first car: a green Beetle.

He said: “I probably would have taken any car I could afford, but it turned out to be the Beetle – and it completely changed my life.”

Sadly, he had to sell his much loved car to pay for his drama school fees.

McGregor added: “I searched for my Beetle, but unfortunately never found it again since it was last registered in the early 1990s. It’s a shame, but it just disappeared.”

The actor has never been able to buy back his first car, but is now a passionate collector of Volkswagen classics.

Among these are three Beetles and a 1960 T1 Transporter pickup.

His garage is also home to two 1967 Volkswagen Westfalia camper vans, which he associates with wonderful trips with his children.

But, what are his plans for the future? Well, it’s still very much VW-related, although this one runs solely on electric power – the latest ID. Buzz.

This comes after the eye-watering car collection of King Abdullah of Jordan, including a £2million 1954 Rolls-Royce and an £885k Bugatti Veyron, was revealed.

Plus, Novak Djokovic’s awesome car collection, including an Aston Martin and two luxury Bentleys, was revealed.
