Inside Elvis’ £5million car collection that features Cadillacs and a £2M BMW
ELVIS Presley is globally recognised for his chart-topping songs and also his prominent acting career.
But many people don’t realise The King also loved his cars and his huge success allowed him to buy some of the finest models around.
Nationwide Vehicle Contracts tracked down all of the cars Elvis owned over the years and they total around £5million in today’s values.
The most expensive of these is The King’s BMW 507, which today is setting people back as much as £2million to buy.
Only 252 507s were ever made and Elvis fell in love with the car while on military service stationed in Germany.
It was white and had been raced in sports car events by the famous German Grand Prix driver Hans Stuck.
The second most valuable car Elvis owned is his Cadillac Fleetwood Series 60, famously painted in bright pink.
That one was crashed by a band member, so Elvis bought a second in blue before having that painted too.
It’s now on show at the Elvis Graceland museum and is worth around £400,000.
Another stunning American motor that Elvis was very fond of was the Ford Thunderbird.
Despite being a Cadillac man, he was tempted into a Thunderbird in 1961. Today the car is also worth around £400,000.
Making up the rest of the list are a further two Cadillacs worth a combined £350,000, a £240,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom V and a Ferrari 308 Dino GT4 worth around the same.
The King also had a couple of limos for those special days out, including a massive Mercedes 600 Pullman and an even larger Lincoln Continental Executive Limousine.
And last but not least, at the other end of the scale is a tiny Messerschmitt microcar.
