THIS creepy graveyard is packed full of classic Pontiac Chieftains and Ford Thunderbirds that were abandoned by US troops during WWII.

The small Belgian town of Chatillon conceals four car graveyards, containing over 500 vehicles from the 1950s and 60s deep into the woods slowly being claimed by nature.

It’s believed the graveyards began at the end of World War II, when American soldiers, unable to afford to ship their cars back home, simply left them in the forest.

The last of the graveyards was cleared in 2010 amid environmental concerns as collectors were taking parts for salvage and souvenirs, but plenty of eerie photos remain.

Urban explorers report having discovered a jackpot of classic whips when they visited the eerie forest.

Rusty Volkwagens, a 1953 Ponticac Chieftainm Renault Dauphine, Studebaker Champion and a Ford Thunderbird were found buried deep in mud and shrubbery.

Closer to home, the UK has plenty of car graveyards of its own – like the Reliant Scimitar graveyard in Derbyshire.

The Reliant Robin is famously regarded as both iconic and awful – but it’s the Reliant Scimitar sports cars that can be found in this Derbyshire car graveyard in huge numbers.

The cemetery, situated near Ashbourne in Derbyshire is lined by trees and contains a mix of haunting and picturesque models.

Meanwhile Preston is home to the Southgate Works graveyard – a former car dealership.

After a massive blaze broke out at the site in December 2018, roughly 150 cars were damaged in the blaze, leaving them burnt to a crisp and abandoned.

The few cars that survived the blaze were left half-buried in foliage.

This site is no longer standing as the building itself became a major safety risk and was later demolished.

But eerie pics show the car-nage that once took place – and to this day investigators still believe the fire was started deliberately.
