Inside chef Jamie Oliver’s mind-boggling car collection including £150k Land Rover with built-in toaster & £74k Ford
CELEBRITY chef Jamie Oliver is best known for his work in the kitchen, but he also has a jaw-dropping car collection.
Famous chef Jamie owns a number of stunning, classic motors which he keeps in his Essex mansion.
The star has accumulated some unique motors with one even boasting a number of incredible features fine-tuned to his culinary craft.
Here, we look at just handful of astonishing motors Jamie has splashed a fortune on over the years.
Land Rover Discovery – £175,000
Jamie is a self-confessed Land Rover fan and partnered with the British manufacturer to create a bespoke Discovery SUV in 2017.
Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations team built the Discovery from scratch, based on vision from Oliver himself.
Sliding out from the boot, the car has its own fold-out work top, fitted with a sink, two gas hobs, spice rack and fold-out TV screen.
The Discovery’s 2,500 litres of luggage space has also been decorated with a living herb garden in the rear windows, as well as oil and vinegar dispensers mounted in the tailgate.
Most impressive, however, are the unique built-in features scattered around the rest of the motor.
The Discovery has a two-slice toaster, positioned conveniently next to the driver’s seat.
On top of a hidden jam store and a slow-cooker fitted in the engine bay, it also has butter churners mounted on three of its alloy wheels, and an ice cream maker on the fourth – meaning Jamie can prepare his ingredients while he is on the road.
In addition to the built-in features, Oliver’s car also comes with a front-mounted rotisserie cooker and a Land Rover inspired BBQ encased within a standard 25-litre jerry can.
1970 Ford Capri 3000GT – £74,000
Jamie bought his Ford Capri for £6,000 in 2011 and spent £20,000 customising it.
It featured in the Channel 4 show Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast, and still has the ‘Jamie’ and ‘Jimmy’ window stickers.
The four-seat coupe boasts a 3.0-litre Essex Ford V6 petrol engine that produces a healthy 138bhp.
The famous blue-oval brand produced the Capri over an 18-year production cycle between 1968 and 1986.
Just under 1.9 million examples were sold, combining irresistible charm and formidable motorsport pedigree.
Just last year, a Ford Capri sold for a new world record price of £74,250.
And Jamie was reported to have been selling the Essex motor last year – although no sales have been reported.
1967 Ford Mustang
The celebrity chef bought wife Jools a 1967 Mustang for her birthday.
He later had it painted glossy black and put flames on the side as a Christmas present.
Ford created the more muscular and powerful Mustang in 1967 after their competitors rolled out new muscle-cars.
The increased body size allowed Ford to put their first big-block engine in a Mustang.
The optional 390-cubic-inch 6.4L V-8 motor was capable of producing an impressive 320 hp.
According to reports, the fully equipped Mustang could achieve 0-60 mph in 7.4 seconds with a top speed of 115 mph.
Land Rover Defender
As a lover of the manufacturer, Jamie is also said to own a classic Land Rover Defender.
The tough motor is designed to be taken off-road and is a popular favourite of the brand.
In the past, Jamie has also owned a Maserati, Porsche Cayenne and a Volkswagen camper van.
It comes as we delved into famous actor Rowan Atkinson’s impressive motor collection.
Meanwhile, Richard Hammond revealed his £400k classic car collection hidden in a barn.
