Influencer flashes bum amid Splendour flop
“Splendour might be cancelled, but that doesn’t mean my outfit is.”
That was the caption on a Splendour in the Grass attendee’s post – and it has never rung more true than for the fashion and beauty influencers who have travelled from across the country to get their snaps.
If anything, the last 24 hours has proven no amount of rain can come between an influencer and their outfit selection.
Sydney model Lizzie Cao appeared to resonate with the sentiment judging from her bold look on day one – wearing a black mesh dress that flashed her G-string undies.
The influencer is one of a handful of guests being hosted in Byron Bay by make-up brand Rimmel – so despite the torrential downpour, the show must go on – after all, the guests are getting paid to be there.
Lizzie wore her colourful hair in cute braided ponytails and slung silver chainbelts over her waist to finish her look.
She also had black knee high boots to keep her feet dry as she trekked over a soggy front lawn to attend the PrettyLittleThing influencer party.
She wasn’t the only social media user to pull out all the stops, despite the fact the elements weren’t on their side.
Model Jemma May Rubach donned a brown PVC catsuit for the washout, creating a slew of TikTok videos wearing the outfit in multiple locations in the “Rimmel Mansion”.
While The Volt fashion designer Sam Todd opted for an all pink ensemble made up of a pink crop and skirt she made herself – and an array of matching accessories.
The social media star also matched her eye make-up to her look and had a pink cowboy hat that looks like it was no match for the wind judging from her photos.
“You can’t cancel good times with good friends at the @rimmellondonau house,” she captioned her windswept snaps.
Ashley Mescia, who wasn’t staying in the same luxury Byron mansion, posted about discovering the festival had been cancelled five minutes after finishing getting ready.
Despite this, she still posted a series of snaps in her black cut out dress from Beginning Boutique.
“Day 1 was so much fun I forgot to take any pics there (jks),” she said, poking fun at the fashion disaster.
Even non-influencers decided to get dressed up, despite the rain.
A group of girlfriends wearing black skimpy outfits shared their photos on social media, writing: “Cancelled, so we went to the pub instead.”
As one woman, dressed in a skin-baring outfit covered up with a clear poncho, said: “Its only water let’s goooooo.”
