Iman Shumpert’s viral performance on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ earns praise from LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, among others
Iman Shumpert has turned in a serviceable NBA career up to now, and at just 31, seems to have a serviceable second act lined up as well.
Shumpert, who spent 12 years in the NBA with five different teams and won an NBA title with the Cavaliers in 2016, is now competing on ABC’s longtime reality show Dancing With the Stars. His performance on Monday night’s ‘Horror Night’ themed show is garnering loads of attention and near-universal acclaim. He performed a contemporary dance with his partner Daniella Kragach, inspired by Jordan Peele’s hit movie “Us,” and achieved a perfect score of 40 from the judges.
Nearly everyone took notice of the longtime shooting guard’s performance, with former teammates, current TV personalities and former NBA stars all chiming in to support Shumpert.
This is far from the first time Shumpert has shown his creative talent off the basketball court, though.

His wife, Teyana Taylor, is a renowned actress, singer-songwriter, dancer and choreographer and back when Shumpert was with the Kings in 2018, Shumpert sang one of his wife’s songs at that year’s media day.
Shumpert’s viral performance that garnered him a perfect score came just a week after he had the lowest scoring dance and notched just 28 out of a possible 40 points.
