‘I’m plus size – here are 10 things I’ll never do again when traveling’

Being a plus-size traveler has a certain number of challenges, particularly when it comes to flying, according to this influencer. Traveler @jaebaeofficial has carved a career out of offering tips and – confidence – to fellow plus-size travelers.

Whether it be trying to squeeze into an airline seat; being limited as to what activities you can do on vacation, or even asking for a better seat on transport, she addresses the woes of traveling in a larger body.

She has now broken down 10 things she swears she’ll never do again as a plus-size traveler. In her video, she proudly stands next to a surfboard wearing a bikini.

One of the things Jaelynn said she will never do again is book a middle seat, as she tells followers they are “the worst for plus size travelers”.

She also said she would never again be scared to ask for a seatbelt extender or fly with airlines she knows are not plus-size friendly.

“Trying to make myself as small as possible even though I’m a paying customer,” is another thing she’ll never do, the influencer told her followers.

And she’ll never “sit in a seat where the armrests don’t raise and leave with bruises from the seat.”

She warned she’ll stop “laughing off the comments that are actually rude about being a plus size traveler” and swore she’d never wait to take a trip until she’d lost weight again.

10 things I’ll never do again when traveling as a plus-size person

  1. Being scared to ask for a seatbelt extender and sacrificing my comfort.
  2. Book a middle seat on a plane (they are the worst for plus-size travelers)
  3. Trying to make myself as small as possible even though I’m a paying customer
  4. Sit in a seat where the armrests don’t raise and leave with bruises from the seat
  5. Stuff myself into the tiny airplane bathrooms
  6. Laughing off the comments that are actually rude about being a plus-size traveler
  7. Not bringing my own towel and only being able to cover a third of my body
  8. Relying on buying plus-size clothing only when I get there
  9. Flying with airlines I know are not plus-size friendly
  10. Waiting to take a trip until I “lose weight”

Many of her followers have taken the tips to heart. One commented: “I leave for Hawaii in 1 week because of your tips. Thank you”.

Another wrote, “These comments are not it. I just flew to Europe. I know all these struggles. You go girl. I’m in my plus size travel era”.

One said: “I wish there was a plus-size travel agency that knows all this stuff I want to travel so bad”.
