I’m an amputee – I was left note by neighbour who took my disabled parking spot
AN AMPUTEE who lost her leg in an accident is fighting back after a neighbour left a horrible note on her car.
Ashley Brady had to relearn how to walk, and her apartment complex gave her a handicapped spot to help her journey indoors easier.
But after Ashley came home one day and saw a car parked in her handicapped spot, she decided to leave a note asking them to kindly move their car.
She discovered a note left under her windshield replying: “Hi handicap. Never place your hands on my car again.
“And honey, you ain’t the only one with ‘struggles’. If you want pity, go to a one leg support group!”
The shocking note threatened to file a report if Ashley left another note, and told her to “go cry your struggles to someone who cares”.
Defiant Ashley said: “She told me to cry to somebody who cares, who I went to the internet and it turns out, a lot of people care.”
She’s received an outpouring of support online after sharing it on Facebook, but her apartment has not decided on a course of action yet.
One viewer of the brutal note responded: “Call the police! Have that b**** towed.”
Another quipped: “Call the police. It’s illegal & they could & should be fined!”
Another resident shared the note they received from a neighbour telling them not to “park in their spot”.
The confused car owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, described how they found the puzzling letter one morning pasted to their windscreen.
They went on to say that there are no parking bays assigned to specific homeowners on Broomhouse Crescent so, as far as they’re concerned, parking wherever there is a space is fair game.
But one arrogant neighbour obviously disagreed and felt that they had the right to request a dedicated space outside their home.
The photo of the note that was shared with Edinburgh Live read: “Hi, could you please park your car somewhere.
“You’re parking in my parking space daily.
“Thanks in advance.”
The person appears to think that they are entitled to a regular spot even though the busy residential street is essentially a free for all with no designated spots.
