I’m a motors expert – here are the best luxury cars you can buy for under £5k
THIS car expert has revealed the best luxury cars to buy for under £5,000, and the options may shock you.
Matt from High Peak Autos took to YouTube and shared his opinion on what the best bang for your buck is when it comes to luxury vehicles.
Using AutoTrader, Matt set the maximum price to £5,000 and let the search engine do the rest of the work – here’s what he found.
Audi A8
With a click of a button, Matt found a list of Audi A8 models for less than £5k.
One option was a four litre turbo diesel V8 engine that also fell into the low road tax bracket.
The vehicle only had 118,000 on the odometer – a bargain for a luxury car such as the Audi A8.
Matt said: “That is a lot of car for the money.
“If it’s got good service history, there’s another three to five years life in it.”
BMW 6 and 7 Series
A BMW 6 Series was found on AutoTrader for only £4,995, with a V8 engine.
Matt said: “You need to watch for oil leaks on those – but can you believe that’s a 19 year old car?”
The exterior of the 6 Series was stunning, in a light silver.
And for a bargain price of £4,500, Matt discovered a 2006 BMW 7 Series with 106,000 miles on it.
He gushed: “£5,000 for a luxury coupe.”
Jaguar XJ and Jaguar XF
Matt recommended the Jaguar XJ, and found one option with heated leather interiors and a 2.7 litre V6 turbo diesel engine.
He said: “A wooden wheel, heated seats… that’s a cool car.”
A Jaguar XF model is also an excellent choice, he said, as it has a 2.7 litre turbo diesel engine or a 3 litre diesel engine.
He said: “If you’re going to drive a lot of miles,go for the diesel, but if not go for one of these petrol models.
“Both are really reliable.”
Range Rover
With heated steering wheels and a killer track record, Range Rovers are a popular choice of used car.
And many options are available for under £5,000, but Matt recommends finding one with a lower mileage than others.
Lexus GS 300
“This is where luxury and reliability collide,” Matt said.
“It might look like you borrowed your grandfather’s car but trust me when I say you will love driving something like this.”
Matt found onen used 2007 GS 300 with only 64,000 miles on it.
The model comes with heated and cooled seats, which Matt said “you wouldn’t get from another manufacturer”.
Mercedes-Benz CLS
This model offers both diesel and petrol engines, but Matt recommends opting for the petrol as it’s more reliable.
“They are a bit of a powerhouse,” he said.
Matt said he loves the proper old school Mercedes.
Porsche Cayenne
“This is an awful lot of car for only £5,000. With a 3.2 litre V6 engine, it’s quite reliable, though not the quickest things in the world,” Matt said.
