YouTuber @scottykilmer revealed that you only need to buy a disinfectant spray that costs less than £2 at most supermarkets.

He said: “Here’s the easiest way to clean them, turn the air-con on full blast, the fresh air is being sucked in here.

“These are the air intakes, so you spray it in here, so the cleaner is sucked in and goes through the whole system, and then the cleaner will exit through the vents.

“Now, if you are really susceptible to strong smells, roll the windows down and don’t sit in the car. Do it for about five minutes, then let it air dry for an hour, and it will go away.”

Scotty revealed that the spray will kill the bacteria – and recommends doing it twice a week this summer.

The video has gone viral on YouTube with more than 302,000 views – and 377 comments and most users were blown away after discovering this hack online.

One said: “These solutions are so genius but at the same time so simple.”

Another said: “Never thought to do this. I love your channel, Scotty.”

While a third pointed out: “Helps to change or clean your cabin filter also.”

This comes after drivers were left stunned after realising that they can park their cars using the key fob.

Plus, drivers were warned that they could be fined for using their sat-nav in their cars.
