He said: “Why have I finally said yes? Because I am not in EastEnders! That is the honest answer. I am not in contract with the BBC so I can come and do it.
“Everyone thinks I am Ian Beale and so it’s going to be great to show I am not.”
Ian is the BBC soap’s longest-serving character and the only remaining original character to have appeared continuously since the first episode on February 19 1985.
Ian Beale said goodbye to the Square in January after Sharon Watts tried to murder him with poisoned pasta.
In a furious showdown Sharon forced Ian to admit to killing her son Dennis Mitchell.
Adam is now starring on stage in Peter James’ Looking Good Dead.
Asked about his future plans he said: “I’m just quite happy doing what I’m doing at the moment, which is doing I’m A Celeb.
“I’m doing the Peter James’ Looking Good Dead. I’m just taking it as it comes along. There is no plan.
“Yeah, I’ll just see where things take me.”

Asked if he would go back to EastEnders he said: “Look, to be honest with you, I don’t know the answer.
“And it’s also, it’s not just my decision, it’s a BBC decision, it’s a timing decision. There’s lots of factors that come into it.
“So the honest answer is, I don’t know.”
Asked about entering the castle on the ITV reality show he said: “I’m just looking forward to the challenge of it. Because it’s something completely different, you don’t get many opportunities like this.
“And you’re going to be challenged by things that you definitely wouldn’t come into contact with in normal circumstances.
“But it’s in a fairly controlled environment, so if you’re going to challenge your fears, I can’t think of a better place to do it.”
