I’m A Celebrity’s Helen Flanagan broke down in tears when phone taken

Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has promised that she will be much braver on the new series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! after having her phone taken away by show bosses.

The 32-year-old first took part in the show back in 2012 but has since returned for the all-stars version of the hit ITV show.

Helen vowed to be braver on the spin-off series that will air on Monday (April 24) and was filmed in South Africa.

Speaking ahead of the show, she said: “I didn’t have a clue what I had let myself in for and I cried even when my phone got taken off me after landing in Australia.

“I want to make my children proud when I take part this time.”

Insisting she’s grown up after 10 years, she said: “It’s going to be different. I was only 22 back then and I am 32 now.

“I have grown up a lot and I’ve had three children and I’ve gone through three labours.

“I want to go back on I’m A Celebrity to be a better version of myself. I want to do a lot better than the first time around and I want to give the trials a go.”

“I want to make myself proud.”

Helen is a mum to her three children with her former partner Scott Sinclair, daughters Matilda and Delilah and son Charlie.

The new version of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! kicks off on ITV1 and ITVX in a matter of days.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly return as hosts as they put famous faces through their paces.

The full cast was announced earlier this year, with Helen, Carol Vorderman, Shaun Ryder and Paul Burrell joined by Amir Khan, Fatima Whitbread, Janice Dickinson, Jordan Banjo and Phil Tufnell.

I’m A Celebrity… South Africa launches on ITV1 and ITVX on Monday, April 24 at 9pm.
