MP Matt, 44, who entered the jungle camp on Tuesday night, finally addressed the scandal as he sat down with comedian Babatunde, 34.

“How have things been?” the Celebrity Gogglebox star was seen asking, to which Matt replied: “It was really tough.”

Appearing to subtly slam the politician’s behaviour, Babatunde went on: “Because you messed up?”

“I messed up and I fessed up. I resigned and it’s no excuse but I fell in love, right? That also had a lot of other consequences,” Matt replied.

“You didn’t just ‘fell in love’ you were grabbing booty bruv,” Babatunde then joked, as Matt told him to “give over”.

He went on to gush over how he is “in love” with Gina, confirming the pair are still happily together after their affair.

“That’ll be the best thing about being kicked out, seeing her on the bridge,” Matt concluded of his time in the jungle.

Fans were left cringing at the exchange, and took to Twitter to react.

One wrote: “Never did I imagine I would hear someone tell Matt Hancock that he was ‘grabbing that booty bruv’.”

Another chimed in: “Babatunde please stop talking about Matt Hancock grabbing booty.”

While a third agreed: “So cringe, funny and uncomfortable.”

“DONT SAY MATT HANCOCK WAS GRABBING THE BOOTY,” concluded a fourth.

The Sun exclusively revealed Matt’s secret affair with his closest aide Gina Coladangelo last year during the coronavirus pandemic.

Our snaps showed him cheating on his wife of 15 years with married Ms Coladangelo while Britain was gripped by Covid.

It comes after fans of the ITV show were all left complaining after Matt was seen on screen for the first time.

The MP had claimed his reason for taking part in the show was to raise awareness, but he seemed to forget all about it as he was quizzed by his new campmates.

Those watching at home were unimpressed by his failure to mention it and took to Twitter to moan about it.

One person wrote: “Hancock was asked twice in tonight’s show why he entered the jungle, funnily enough he didn’t use it as a chance to ‘raise awareness of dyslexia on a platform that will reach people’.”

A second added: “Matt was asked, on at least four different occasions during tonight’s episode, why he entered I’m A Celebrity. Not once did he mention dyslexia. It’s all a money-making vanity project.”

While a third put: “I thought Matt Hancock said he was going into the jungle to raise awareness for dyslexia charities? No mention…”

Matt’s highly anticipated arrival in the jungle was met with a mixture of shock, incredulity and uncontrollable laughter from the celebs.
