I’m a carer – a neighbour let down my tyres & left note as I visited home

A CARER was fuming after a note was stuck to her car and the two back tyres deflated in a row over parking.

Taylor-Riley Richardson, who was carrying out home visits at the time, described the actions of the resident as “disgusting”.

The 26-year-old had pulled up in Urmston in Trafford, Greater Manchester, on Saturday morning.

She parked within the rules and not outside anyone’s house, but when she returned to her vehicle she found a handwritten note pinned to her windscreen.

It read: “Can you please park in the big car park or on a different road as you are preventing residents from parking next to their homes? Thank you.”

Taylor-Riley, who lives in nearby Stretford, also discovered her motor’s two back tyres had been let down.

She said on Facebook: “To whoever has let the two back tyres down on my car whilst I am working then I hope you are happy with yourself.

“I am a carer currently working two long back-to-back shifts during the Christmas period.

“I have worked very hard to buy my new car a few months ago and I should not have to get on the cold ice to pump up my tyres.

“I am not even directly outside anyone’s house or parked in an incorrect manner.

“Absolutely disgusting behaviour.”

She later added: “The person that’s done this knows exactly where I work and what I do for work as well.

“Hope the electric pump woke them up on their day off.”

Her post attracted a stack of comments describing the mystery offender’s behaviour as “disgusting”.

One wrote: “That’s s***. You can park anywhere on a public road unless there are markings to the contrary.

“People do not own the road outside their homes.”

Another said: “That’s disgusting. How can they have the cheek to leave a note and say you are preventing residents from parking next to their home?

“I’m sorry but most of us pay road tax so you can park anywhere you want.”

And a third added: “Sorry to hear about your tyres love.

“Just remember you’re doing an amazing job and I hope one day the person who did that to your car doesn’t need a carer.”

But others pointed out Taylor-Riley may have parked in an inconvenient spot or partially blocked access to someone’s driveway.

“If they tried to pull out, you’re blocking their view from safely coming out of their drive,” one said.

“What about if they have disabled kids needing that vehicle for emergencies?

“We could all learn to be considerate in parking better.”
