The YouTuber shared several tips to make sure that your air-con runs smoothly this summer.

He said: “The first thing you can do is go to your air conditioning inlet under the hood and take all the leaves and debris that are under there so they don’t get sucked up into the vent system because if they do, and get inside the evaporator where the cold air blows, it will clog it up.

“Then water will build up and leak all over the car, and when that happens, it will also work inefficiently because the evaporator will have a lot of water in it.”

The mechanic with over 55 years of experience revealed that drivers always forget to change the cabin filter.

He continued: “You have to take out the glovebox. In the case of this Toyota, you just squeeze the side and the whole thing comes out.

“I recently changed this one about a month ago, but you can see it is already getting a bunch of dirt in it. Once in a while, you can just check them and wet most of the crud out and then put them back in.

“And if you’re really sensitive, you can buy more expensive ones they’ve carbon-activated filters and they will get rid of a lot of the stench outside by filtering through the carbon.

The car expert recommends checking your cabin filters every two or three months, especially in summer when most drivers use their AC every day.

“The last thing you have to check are the cooling fans and your radiator to make sure that they are working so the AC gets cold.

“With the car running, turn the AC on full blast and make sure the cooling fans are producing plenty of air like this one because even though the fan is on the radiator when you go in front of the radiator you see the condenser.

“It has to have air blown through it to make your air get cool when you turn your air-conditioning on.

“While I’m talking about air flows through the condenser, you notice mine is all clean, and that’s because I just cleaned it off from a trip to Austin where a lot of bugs got stuck in it. Anything that restricts airflow is gonna make the air conditioner work poorly.

“So if you have a lot of bugs, just do this, get a garden hose and hydrate the bulbs so they get wet and wait for 20 minutes to make sure you they are clean.”

The video has gone viral on social media with more than 2.8million views and nearly 2,000 comments.
