A CAR expert has revealed his top tips to avoid getting scammed by a mechanic and says it could save you thousands of pounds.
Josh Regis said that some unscrupulous mechanics will often try to charge you for repairs your car doesn’t actually need.

In a recent video, Regis said drivers should always ask for proof of any issue to avoid being charged for an unnecessary repair.
He goes on: “The next one is getting an estimate and using that personal estimate so you can do your own research and compare.
“Number three is asking for old parts and asking them where they installed the new ones.
“And always phone a friend and ask them for advice – and don’t be afraid to leave the garage if things don’t look alright.”
The video was uploaded by @kingregis_ to TikTok – and has had over 10,000 views.
